Summers here already and relief is not coming your way very soon. So says even the Met Department.
But summer is not to be scared of. In fact there’s so much to do in summer… summer reads, summer anthems, summer blockbuster… Plus, Dilli has lots of interesting activities around town. So, don’t get scared to get a tan; wake up the explorer in you and take your summer indulgence to a new level and fill your days with sunshine memories.
So, here are some cool activities that you can immerse yourself to beat the heat.
Weekend Getaways: Take heart, Dilliwallas, for you have been blessed, blessed in multitude by Mother Nature. The heat may beat you down, but it can’t knock you all out. The cool comfort of the Himalayas is just a stone’s throw away. You can always plan a quick getaway to traditionally popular hill stations like Mussorie, Nainital, Shimla, Dehradun etc. or go to some alternative lesser known hill stations.
Swimming and Water Parks: And when summer sets in, can you keep yourself distant from water? Delhi has some of the coolest water escapades – from swimming pools to theme parks to pool parties, name it and you have it. There are many places for exotic pool parties in Delhi like Nyx, Golden Tulip, Aqua, The park and Aquaden. For some fun time with family and friends, head to Fun and Food Village, World of Wonder and Adventure Island.
Hit The Bars To Chill: They say nothing can beat gulping a chill beer on a hot summer afternoon. And indeed it is. And quench your thirst in style in some of the trendiest and sophisticated laid-back hotspots in and around Delhi after a busy day at work. There’s Beer Café for all those die hard beer aficionados, Ice Lounge and Bar for the venturesome, Red Monkey Bar for the more elusive and for the traditionally inclined, there’s Soju and Sake at Pebble Street, Underdoggs Bar and Grill and Punjabi by Nature.

Walk Into Gastronomic Paradise: Dilli is also the gastronomic capital of the country. Khari Baoli in old Delhi is amongst the places to visit in Delhi in summer for such lip smacking delicacies. Harnarain Gokal Chand’s sherbet shop and Duliram Nareshchand’s is worth a try. In Kucha Patiram, at Sitaram Bazaar, indulge in Duliram Nareshchand’s sumptuous kulfi and mango rabri. And for Chuski try Shikhara Lovely Chuski, India Gate, Chuski Paan Wallah, Near Big Cinemas Odeon, Connaught Place.
